Sir William Henderson

Initially worked for George Thompson in the Aberdeen White Star Line (timber, tea and passengers) then became a senior partner of the firm. Married George Thompson's daughter. Lived in Devanha House. Elected Lord Provost, serving between 1886-1889. Founded the Aberdeen Sailors' Mission. Philanthropist who gave money to a number of causes in the city of Aberdeen.
