Andrew Mcmorrine
McMorrine’s work is tied closely to the places he has lived and the people in his life. He studied at Glasgow School of Art graduating diploma of Art in 1970. With roots in Galloway and Colonsay, he has gone on to live and teach in Glasgow, South Uist and Skye, and has painted and travelled in Northern and Southern Europe, particularly Italy, France and Germany. Andrew now works full-time in his own studio, painting, print-making and carving.
McMorrine’s work often depicts the beauty of landscape, but also shows the somewhat vanishing conventions of island life – and their personalities – with humour and affection.
