Maureen Alpha Platform

Artist Info
Maureen Alpha Platform

Maureen Platform was a three leg all steet gravity structure capable of being refloated and towed to another location once the wells decommissioned.

It was designed by Tecnomare and built at Hunterston in Ayrshire in 1983 and entered production that year in the UKCS. It continued in production until 1999, when application for decommissioning of the field was made and the structure moved to Norway. At the time was the largest all steel structure capable of being moved.

In 2001 it was towed to Norway and later recycled and reused as part of a harbour development.
