Barbara Rae

Rae’s energetic, gestural and colourful approach to painting has been her hallmark as a distinguished Scottish artist. The idea of place is significant for Rae; traces and patterns left on the landscape are of thematic interest, but also provide a starting point for her works which in turn become almost abstract, experimenting with the medium of paint.

The artist’s development into printmaking not only informs her painted works, but stands alone as an interesting and dynamic area of her practice.

Rae’s work is featured in public, private and corporate collections in the UK and internationally.

Most recently, Rae showed a selection of new works at SO Fine Art Editions in Dublin 2014.
