Artist Info
Margaret AllenAberdeen, Scotland

Believed to come from Aberdeen, "Allie" was a companion to the Bing family during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. She travelled with the family to India, where the head of the Bing family was a District Governor, before returning to Scotland.

Judging by her collection of small cartes de visite by local photographers, she obviously had Aberdeen connections. She may also have taught in Geneva as there is a small collection of photographs of young women with affectionate dedications to "Maggie".
