Keywords
About MeIn his own day Alfred Stevens was a salon artist who won many prizes and was best known for his genre paintings which portray and document the women and fashions of the second Empire. Today, however the chief interest is in his marvellously evocative and poetic landscape paintings which proved to be an inspiration to Renoir, Degas and Monet all of whom admired his work and sought his advice.
