Karl Roth was a German Soldier. On 29th March 1945 he was captured in Germany. Karl was sent to Scotland as a prisoner of war. He arrived in Aberdeen about September 1945. The prison camp was at Tullos-Nigg. He and about 120 other prisoners were held in Nissen huts, however, prisoners were allowed outside the camp. They worked on building sites. At first they wore their German uniforms but later they were given special British army clothing. Karl Roth made friends in Aberdeen but returned to Germany in 1948.
