Iolair
Iolair is an Emergency Support Vessel whose primary function is to provide emergency cover in BP's North Sea oilfields.
Built by British Shipbuilders in the Scott Lithgow Yard on the Clyde at a coast of sixty-seven million ppounds, Iolair was delivered to BP in August 1982.
Purpose designed semi-submersible twin hulled Emergency Support Vessel, with two 102 metre pontoons and six vertical columns supporting the decks and superstructure.
Iolair is Gaelic for Eagle and the vessel is registered in Dundee.
