Scottish lawyer and Liberal politician. Son of Alexander Webster, advocate, and Margaret McKilligan. Justice of the Peace and Deputy Lieutenant for Aberdeenshire. Lord Provost of Aberdeen. Chairman of Scottish Provincial Assurance Company and member of the University Court of Aberdeen University. Promoter and Chariman of Directors of Aberdeen Music Hall Co. Married Margaret Chalmers, daughter of David Chalmers of Westburn from the Chalmers publishing family (who published abolitionist material and were members of the anti-slavery society in Aberdeen).
