13/05/1840:
The "GAZELLE." - One of the prettiest little steamers afloat now lies at the lower basin. She was built by Messrs Alex. Hall & Sons, for Messrs William Simpson & Co. and named the "GAZELLE." We have seldom seen a smaller steamer so neatly fitted up, and so complete in every part; and, from the satisfaction she gave on a trial trip to and from Peterhead, there is every reason to ex-pect that she will prove an excellent sea-boat. The "GAZELLE," we learn, is sold to a Company in Prussia.

Notes:
Steam engine by William Simpson & Co.
William Simpson & Co, Engineers are noted as being original owners in the Builder's list in the Lloyd's Library in the Aberdeen Maritime Museum, but the Aberdeen Register does not mention them
Cost at construction, £1,000 for the hull [i.e. exclusive of the engine]
It is possible that Messrs Catto traded as the Aberdeen Steam Navigation Co.
