About MeThe dresses depicted are typical of the period, with wide shoulders, neat small waists and flared skirts. What is also interesting about this drawing is how Fettes highlights the garments in the foreground by leaving the background detail less worked. This is a feature of many of his fashion illustrations and serves to make the design of the dress clearer.
More About Me
In this drawing the fashion of the period is highlighted with the dresses given most of the detail. Fettes produced illustrations for many stores in Aberdeen including Watt & Grant, Falconers and Esslemont & Macintosh.
