About MeCast iron money banks like these were once quite common in the late 1800's. Many were made by a company named Chamberlain & Hill of Walsall who probably made this one. It is hexagonal shaped like a early form of space heater. The brownish colouring is deliberate Japanning typical of much cast iron work of the period. It has an inscription on the top BANK, and the decorative panels carry birds and foliage designs.Richard Irvin & Sons Ltd
