About MeThis East Asian guardian lion dog is holding what is known as an 'embroidered ball' with a geometric pattern between its front paws.

Guardian lion dogs are placed at the entrances of important buildings to protect the building and the people inside.

This guardian lion dog has its mouth closed which is said to keep good spirits in.

The glaze is a bright blue tin glaze, possibly copper oxide.
More About Me
Do you think many dogs could balance a ball in this way? If you were going to attempt to teach one, keep the lessons away from fragile ceramics like this!
