About MeThis figure represents Kuan-Yin, a Buddhist figure, the goddess of mercy. The highly translucent porcelain is left unpainted. It is covered in a thick chalk white glaze, giving the French name, blanc de chine. This decorative style was copied by European and English porcelain companies in the 18th century.
