About MeMaroon hardback book labelled "P. & C. BOOK.".

The Private and Confidential list maintained by the Aberdeen Granite Association listed individuals and businesses that were late in paying bills. If a bill was late it was reported to the Secretary of the Association, who added it into the P & C book and wrote to the party concerned requesting payment. Names in the P & C list were circulated to members of the Association and members did not accept orders from them until accounts were settled.

Although also referred to as a "Black List" the term Private and Confidential List was preferred. This was because of the possibility of parties on the List accusing the Association or its members of libel. A full discussion of the possibility of libel arising from the list is included in the opening pages of the Minutes of the Aberdeen Granite Association, Volume 2.

Entries are listed by year and month and indexed at the front of the volume. This volume covers the period between 1938 and 1964.
