About MeWritten by Robert Daniel Lawrence, known as Robin, this book was written by a diabetic for diabetics explaining how to live with diabetes - what it is, suggested recipes and drinks, and tables for urine testing and dosages of insulin.

After insulin saved his life, Robin devoted most of his career to improving the care and welfare of others living with diabetes. His books, The Diabetic Life and The Diabetic ABC both ran to numerous editions. In 1934, with the help of the author HG Wells, he founded the Diabetic Association – now Diabetes UK – and was also the founding President of the International Diabetes Federation in 1950.

In this audio, guest contributor Martin talks about his memories of using the Diabetic ABC afer he was diagnosed as a child.
