About MeThis work is part of an archive that belonged to Joyce Laing OBE. The artist, Ian Hamilton Finlay, was a personal friend of the donor and sent her an example of each new poem print and multiple as it was made.The work comprises: an envelope illustrated with a twig with buds (in green) which has a label attached to it (in brown) with the word 'Butterfly'. The illustration is entitled Butterfly Garden. The envelope contains thirteen tags made of yellow card, with a hole at one end and the word 'Butterfly' in either brown or green, and in varying styles. Thirteen small string ties are also enclosed, of fine, white silky cotton (or possibly silk), also one small folded card with an image of a Red Admiral butterfly on its front, printed inside:
