About MePossibly a drawing from March 1918, when McBey was in Jericho. On 26th March he noted in his diary, "Started off fairly early in morning. It had rained during the night, though the morning was clear. March to the anti-aircraft guns in the orchard at Jericho. Sketched them. Hostile aeroplane was sighted. All to attention. Plane up. Did not fire. Then began again. Driver saw another and gave the alarm. They fired five shots."More About Me
McBey probably sketched these anti-aircraft guns in Jericho. The blue sky looks benign but during the First World War enemy planes could appear at any moment.
