About MeThis is one of a pair of silver mounted, yellow horn beakers with a wide rim that tapers to its base. It features ornate, applied decoration that depicts birds and flowers in gilt bone and mother of pearl. The pair are dated to around 1883 and attributed to the successful firm of John and Frank Pairpoint.
More About Me
Two silversmith brothers here used the precious metal to strengthen, as well as decorate, the thin rims of these horn beakers.
