About MeCard co-designed by Ian Hamilton Finlay and Mark Stewart, printed by the Wild Hawthorn Press. It dates to 1987 and depicts two images drawn freehand in italic pen: a spade crossing a minnow net and a fishing rod crossing a gun. These images accompany the following text, which is handwritten in the same pen: "The difference between a house by Voysey and a house by Lutyens is that the lobby of the former holds a toy spade and a minnow-net and that of the latter a fishing rod and a gun." The text and images are printed in red onto brown card. This work is part of an archive that belonged to Joyce Laing, OBE. The artist, Ian Hamilton Finlay, was a personal friend and sent her an example of each new poem print and multiple as it was made.
