About Me"Grant Vibration" 12' rod, three piece Greenheart with split joints, the butt fittings of bronzed brass decorated with bands of bright brass. The base is marked "Sole
Makers Playfair Aberdeen" and marked on split joints and tips "Grants Patent 4522".

Alexander Grant applied for a patent for a non-slipping splice for fishing rods, golf club handles and other like articles on 29 May 1894 (No. 10385), and was accepted on 4 May 1895. In the early 1900s, Grant sold the rights to make his vibration rod to Playfair of Aberdeen.
