About MeSet of sixteen blue cards, each with printed text on the front, contained within a grey folding cover card with the title: "Thoughts on Waldemar / Ian Hamilton Finlay / The Wild Hawthorn Press". On each card is the prefix "Thoughts on Waldemar" followed by a number (1 to 16) and a critical or insulting remark about Waldemar Januszczack, art critic of the Guardian, such as "He was one of Disillusion's greatest enthusiasts". At the time these cards were made Januszczack had become caught in the crossfire of Ian Hamilton Finlay's "Follies War" with the National Trust. This work is part of an archive that belonged to Joyce Laing, OBE. The artist, Ian Hamilton Finlay, was a personal friend and sent her an example of each new poem print and multiple as it was made.
