It features a fold-out card wallet containing four loose card inserts, each printed with the text of a proposed plaque for attachment to the four sentry boxes at Schloss Benrath. The four texts are entitled: Neoclassical Statuary, Neoclassical Thaumaturgy, Classical Biography and Classical Warfare. Schloss Benrath is a Rococo maison de plaisance near Düsseldorf, Germany. The card wallet contains explanations of the texts, a small map of the grounds at Schloss Benrath and an artist's impression of a finished sentry box complete with plaque.This object is part of an archive that belonged to Joyce Laing, OBE. The artist, Ian Hamilton Finlay, was a personal friend.
