About MeCard designed by Ian Hamilton Finlay and printed on one side (like a postcard) by the Wild Hawthorn Press. It features a print of a watercolour, the title and the following description: "Five oval plaques inscribed with the names of classical lovers, and five rectangular plaques naming particular species of trees, were exhibited in the ’English Garden’, the Merian Park, Basel, in the summer of 1984." Under a dotted line is a small reproduced section of the watercolour and instructions for it to be cut out, overlaid and glued to the print above. On the reverse is a personal message from Finlay to Joyce Laing, the donor. This work is part of an archive that belonged to Joyce Laing, OBE. The artist, Ian Hamilton Finlay, was a personal friend and sent her an example of each new poem print and multiple as it was made.
