General History:
01/12/1827:
Montrose, Nov. 21.—Yesterday, the ENDEAVOUR, Mearns, from Newcastle, coming into the river, was taken aback a sudden gust the N.W., which put her ashore; by great exertions they got her out to sea, but the water flowed so fast into her that they were obliged to run her ashore to the South of this. A great part the materials saved, but the vessel expected to a total wreck.

Note: From 1804 until 1809 In Lloyd's underwriters the place of build is just given as Scotland, but the tonnage and master are consistent with after the change to Aberdeen in 1810 (E535).
