About MeThis is a model of the offshore supply vessel Seaforth Hero. The vessel was built in 1973 in Hull and operated by Seaforth Maritime Ltd, Aberdeen until 1988.
With the development of North Sea oil fields in the 1970s, vessels such as Seaforth Hero began to appear in Aberdeen Harbour.

Offshore supply vessels carry cargo, ranging from food to drilling equipment, to the platforms. The long low deck allows the vessel to manoeuvre close to the platform and also to carry large pieces of equipment.

Supply vessels normally have a crew of around ten and do trips lasting 2-4 days. They are hired on daily rates and can often be seen in the harbour during bad weather.
