About MeExtract from the register book of births for the Parish of Foveran related to the birth of James McBey. The document details that McBey was born on December 23, 1883 at 4:40 am in Newmill Foveran to Annie Gillespie and James McBey. The birth was officially registered on January 11, 1884, officiated by the registrar, Peter Andon. This extract was requested by McBey on April 20, 1940 as part of the legal documentation required for his application to be awarded U.S citizenship. The document is a photocopy which is stamped on the reverse by The Alabama Photo Studios.
