About MeLetter from James McBey to his lawyer Sidney Krauss dated 7th July 1940. McBey explains that a cheque is enclosed for his "Bill of Acutal Disbursements" and asks Krauss how much he owes him for helping gain his US citizenship. McBey thanks Krauss for his helps and states "But for your persistent effort I would have had to go back to Britain with the munitions or eked out a precarious livlihood on some sugar plantation in Cuba."This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
