About MeLetter from James McBey to J. Harvey Loutit, dated 28 December 1953. McBey writes that "Tangier is not really law-abiding but only seems to be so because there are fewer laws to break than almost anywhere else".

He also writes that "no difficulty should be met with regarding period furniture for Provost Skene's house if the services of John Bell were enlisted, that is if the city's finances could stand his assistance. 1745 is not a difficult period. It would be in keeping to furnish the house with anything made in the first half of the 18th Century, wouldn't it!"

This object is part of a collection of personal correspondence to and from James McBey.
