About MeA hardwood presentation box with two separate halves, each with chiselled recesses to fit around six mineral samples. The samples are labelled as impregnated shale (sample missing), shale with chrysocolla, haematite with malachite, quartzite with malachite, malachite and a further space where the original labelling has been obscured (this sample also appears to be copper bearing). The upper right corner of the box is labelled "KAMBOVE MINE".

Kambove mine is situated in the Katanga Province, now in Democratic Republic of Congo. The vast copper deposits in the region were discovered by Aberdeen-born engineer Robert Williams. Williams is also associated with the development of railways in this region, such as the Benguela railway through then Portuguese West Africa (now Angola); and the railway connection to Luau at the border to the Belgian Congo (now Democratic Republic of Congo).

There are no works to discover for this record.
