About MeTripod mounted electric polishing machine on a pair of rails which pivots and rotates. A maker's plate on the motor housing reads "CASSIE / MAKERS / GEORGE CASSIE & SON LTD / [###] KING STREET / ABERDEEN", with additional cast inscriptions "26606". "F 25620" and 73891" elsewhere on the body.

Cassie's promoted the Seaton polisher as a "must for all monumental and building masons for the polishing of small surfaces, curved topes, ledgers and bases" because it did away with the "tedious job" of holding a polishing tool. The sliding weight on the motor arms was used for balance or adding weight to the polishing head.

It was supplied as standard with three shotting rings for use with chilled iron polishing shot, three emery rings for use with carborundum and three felt faced wood glossing blocks for use with tin oxide. Diamond impregnated rings were available as extras to replace of the shotting and emery rings.

For an earlier pneumatic model, see ABDMS022477.
