About MePlan of the city of Aberdeen and Torry Estate, referred to in Council minutes of 8th April, 1869. Formerly in possession of John Harper of Harper & Co., who was involved in local politics and at one stage offered to construct a suspension bridge over the River Dee at Torry for the use of the inhabitants of the city. In the event the offer was declined by the Town Council.
