The brig EDWARD, of Aberdeen, from Sunderland, with coals, was put up to Burntisland but in running for the Frith the northward the Scares, on Wednesday, during the gale, was struck a heavy sea, when James Cowie, the master, laid hold of the boat for safety, unhappily without effect, and both were overboard. Mr. Cowie was an active young man, and is much regretted by his friends.
