Post Office Aberdeen Directory last has an entry for MARINER built 1835, of 142 tons [higher than the 115 given by Lloyd's] in its 1858-59 edition but there continues to be a MARINER built 1855 of the same owner and tonnage in the 1862 edition which is possibly a missprint.
Schooner rigged in Lloyds Register but Aberdeen register says hermaphrodite rigged. Hermaphrodite denotes an irregular rig part way between two recognised types.
