About MeThis is a model of Annie W Lewis, built at Simons & Co. in 1927 for the Aberdeen Harbour Commissioners. This was part of a programme to deepen the harbour and navigational channel because the size of vessels using the port had increased.

This trailing suction dredger was purchased to remove soft material, such as sand and clay. Another vessel, Grab Dredger No. 2, built in 1931, was able to deal with debris and could work close to the quayside. Between them, the dredgers provided a depth of 32 feet spring tide high water in the harbour. Both were sold in the 1960s.

This model was built by Mr Gravener, a turner at the Hall shipyard, in 1960.
