Annie W Lewis

Aberdeen harbour dredger
About MeAnnie W Lewis used the suction method to lift soft materials like shingle, sand and clay from the harbour bottom. With its trailing suction pipe, it could dredge to a depth of 42 feet. Its hopper, which could be filled in less than an hour, carried 1000 tons of dredged material. The vessel began operations in summer 1927.
