This wheel has 12 flat edged spokes which become rounded as they reach the rim. They fit into the wheel centre and rim via wooden dowels at each end.
The rim consists of six wooden sections (known as sawed felloe sections), joined together with a dowel at each end. The sawed felloe sections bow out beyond the steel tyre on the outer side of the wheel.
The middle of the wheel has a metal flange on the inner hub.
Through the centre of the wheel a barrel style construction runs and houses the central shaft which is still greased.
On the other side, the outer hub has a wooden flange with a metal cover (loose).
Some red paint remains on the spokes but it is peeling heavily.
