About MeEvery vessel has to have a variety of equipment to permit those onboard to survive should they have to abandon ship. The Maritime & Coastguard Agency has the regulatory role for specifying the types and quantity under its remit for maritime safety.
Every lifeboat must carry sufficent rations to aid the the crew to reach safety alive. An important part of this equipment are high energy and high calorie foods such as these long life specialised compressed biscuits, made from glucose, wheat flour, starch, and a host of vitamins contained in waterproof packs.
The packs, have like all safety equipment, to be replaced at regular intervals.
