About MeWhilst today's child might wear a pull on fleece hat or colourful brimmed hat affording protection from the sun, children in the first part of the 20th century wore some very uncomfortable headwear creations. These included the large floppy cotton broderie anglais hat (1900) for a girl, complete with equally large bow. These hats were worn with white broderie anglais dresses and thick black stockings whenever the child was outdoors in the summer, even while playing.
