About MeLarge photo montage in an ornate wooden frame of the Aberdeen Corporation Cleansing Department dating to 1905. The montage consists of many small, individual portrait photographs of each department member that has been applied to a large backing board. The backing board itself is ornately decorated with hand painted floral motifs and scrolls. The photographs were taken by Middleton’s Photographic Studio.

The photographs are arranged around a central figure, likely Alexander Findlay, Inspector of Cleansing in 1905. The images get steadily smaller the further out they get. While there are only four women on the photograph it is interesting to note their large size and proximity to the centre.
