About MeIt was in the genre of church interiors that Dutch painter Johannes Bosboom established his reputation. He explained in his autobiography that he had a natural inclination to record the impressions that churches made upon him. In this watercolour, Bosboom has focussed on the graceful height of the vaulted spandrels, whilst the figures beneath - some of whom are seemingly dressed in 17th century costume - are dwarfed by the enormity of the sacred building.
