About MeOne of a set of four grey circular heads with one flat surface and the other formed of six arrow shapes in high relief around a central hole. There are three further smaller holes arranged equidistant around the outer edge. The four samples are in various stages of wear to demonstrate the process of polishing. See ABDMS016497 for an unused example.

The Jenny Lind was invented in America and first came to the north east around 1885. Local granite yards were quick to realise its potential for polishing much larger pieces of stone. This was due to its design - the grinding ring is suspended from two hinged gates which can be swung around to cover a large area.
