About MeCarpet sweeper with wooden housing painted with the inscription: THE BEACON in gold and black on both faces and "MFD [manufactured] IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" in gold on one face. The wooden housing runs on four metal wheels with rubber tyres and houses a single rotating brush head of black bristles. The movement of the wheels rotates the central axle for the brush. There are two metal levers on the upper surface which release metal plates on the underside for removal of the sweepings. The wooden handle extends from an ornate metal frame and moves freely from almost vertical to almost horizontal on one side.
