About MeGill's nudes are symbolic and sculptural. He had a fondness for clean, hard outlines and often did not include the model's face. The abdominal areas in both nudes are emphasised to highlight the roundness of the female stomach.

More About Me

Gill's preference for simple clear outlines in his drawings showed also in the font he designed - Gill Sans - which is used in the London Underground.
