About MeWooden Plaques carved in relief with the symbols of the Incorporated trades Guilds of Aberdeen. The six guilds, each for a Trade, were formed to protect and support the craftsmen and to uphold a high quality of work. Unfortunately we only have three of the six Trades plaques in our collections. Each guild is represented by the tools which symbolise its trade. The Wrights and Coopers Guild is represented on the left with an axe, set square and two compasses. In the centre we have the Hammermen's Guild, symbolised by the smith's hammer, and on the right the three flesher's knives and an axe represent the Guild of Fleshers.
