About MePatrick Nasmyth is often considered to be the most talented son of Alexander Nasmyth. His landscapes were in the manner of 17th century Dutch masters, earning him the nickname of 'The English Hobbema'. Unlike many of his contemporaries, who were fascinated by the romantic aspects of nature and their own responses to it, Nasmyth concentrated on realism, producing sincere and careful rural studies.
