About MeJames Hutcheon was a director of the North of Scotland Bank, where McBey worked as a young man. He had been the first person to admire McBey's etchings. The Bank commissioned this portrait on the sitter's retirement from the Bank in 1921. James Mcbey was paid £15 for the painting.
