About MeFor most of his career, David Cox worked primarily as a watercolour artist, but in the 1840s he turned to painting in oils, stating that he wished he had begun earlier in life.In Wind, Rain and Sunshine Cox - like his great contemporary JMW Turner -is characteristically concerned with weather and atmospheric effects, imbuing the Romantic landscape with a dramatic power.
More About Me
This painting reminds me of when I go on long walks in the countryside, when the clouds are dark, but the sun is coming through. I wonder where David Cox got the idea of painting this picture. Elizabeth Stephen.
