About MeThis painting is an excellent example of Victorian Orientalism.

The abstract decoration on the archway is Islamic. The artist has captured this decoration, along with the silk of the robes and the fur of the leopards' coats with detailed brushwork. In this way, Woodville effectively conveys the rich and varied textures of the different surfaces.
