Suit from Bill Gibb's autumn / winter 1978 collection. Hip-length jacket of aubergine and black tweed with pale-blue, windowpane check and raised diamonds. The tweed was designed by Richard Womersley. Worn with wool, crêpe skirt and silk scarf, hand-printed by Janet Taylor. The fabric of the jacket is inspired by traditional tweed.
Purchased in 1993 with a grant from the National Fund for Acquisitions.
